Profile

History

Domaine Lamy-Pillot is a mid-sized family estate based in Chassagne-Montrachet, with twelve parcels spread across five communes. The domaine's most remarkable holding is a sliver of Montrachet Grand Cru (0.08 ha) — one of the smallest fractions of that legendary vineyard — alongside an extensive Premier Cru collection in Chassagne, Saint-Aubin, Meursault, and Givry. Chassagne itself was long dominated by red wine; its white-wine reputation grew through the twentieth century as Chardonnay's commercial success drew growers to replant.

Winemaking Approach

Twelve parcels across five communes produce a range that reaches from the Côte de Beaune to the Côte Chalonnaise. The Montrachet fragment, though tiny, anchors the estate's identity — it is bottled separately and produced in very limited quantity. Saint-Aubin accounts for the largest share of acreage in the Premier Cru range, with En Créot (0.63 ha) and Le Charmois (0.47 ha) as the main holdings there. Chassagne Premier Crus include the reds of La Boudriotte Rouge alongside whites such as Morgeot and Clos St-Jean. The Les Combes parcel in Givry adds a Côte Chalonnaise red to the lineup. The domaine bottles under the traditional parcel-by-parcel model.
