Profile

History

Domaine Michel Niellon is a small estate in Chassagne-Montrachet — a village that shares the great white-wine plateau with Puligny while retaining a meaningful red-wine tradition of its own. The domaine works across three communes, holding parcels in some of the Côte de Beaune's most prestigious white-wine appellations, including slivers of three Grand Crus.

Winemaking Approach

Nine parcels in total — three Grand Cru and six Premier Cru — define the estate's range. Working across Chassagne-Montrachet and Puligny-Montrachet gives the cellar material that spans the full spectrum of Côte de Beaune Chardonnay, from the steely mineral edge of Chevalier-Montrachet down through the broader, richer expressions lower on the slope. Domaine bottling preserves each parcel's individual character.
