Profile

History

Domaine Marc Colin is a Chassagne-Montrachet estate whose holdings span three communes in the southern Côte de Beaune. Chassagne occupies a pivotal position — sharing the Montrachet hill with Puligny to the north while maintaining a lively red-wine identity of its own — and the domaine's parcel map captures that range. Marc Colin assembled the portfolio over decades of careful acquisition, with particular emphasis on Saint-Aubin's high-lying Premier Cru lieux-dits and the two precious Grand Cru slivers that touch Montrachet itself.

Winemaking Approach

The estate works 12 parcels across 3 communes, with 2 Grand Cru and 10 Premier Cru sites. Saint-Aubin accounts for the majority of Premier Cru holdings — a village that shares Chassagne's limestone subsoil at a slightly higher elevation and produces whites of striking precision at a fraction of the price. Vinification is traditional: gentle pressing, barrel fermentation, and estate bottling that keeps each parcel's character distinct.
