Profile

History

Domaine Jean-Noël Gagnard is a Chassagne-Montrachet estate with holdings that extend north into Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet and south into Santenay — fourteen parcels across five communes. The domaine carries two Grand Crus: a parcel of Bâtard-Montrachet (0.49 ha) and the tiny Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet (0.09 ha), placing it firmly among the Côte de Beaune's serious white-wine producers.

Winemaking Approach

Fourteen parcels — two Grand Cru and twelve Premier Cru — across five communes make this a genuinely multi-terroir domaine. The range runs from the weight of Bâtard-Montrachet to the more mineral Chablis Les Petits Clos, and from white Chassagne to red Morgeot and Clos St-Jean. Detailed winemaking documentation is limited in public sources, but the breadth of the holdings implies separate parcel vinification.
