History
Domaine Jean-Marc Pillot is a Chassagne-Montrachet estate working a spread of premier crus across the southern Côte de Beaune and into the Côte Chalonnaise. Jean-Marc Pillot built the domaine around the classic Chassagne combination of white and red premier crus — Les Fairendes, Clos St-Jean, Les Vergers — while also acquiring parcels in Meursault and Nuits-St-Georges, giving the portfolio an unusual geographic range.
Winemaking Approach
Ten premier cru parcels across 4 communes — Chassagne-Montrachet, Nuits-St-Georges, Meursault, and Montagny-lès-Buxy. The Chassagne parcels dominate by area and character, with both white (Les Vergers, Les Chenevottes, Les Champs Gain) and red (Clos St-Jean) premier crus. The Clos St-Marc in Nuits-St-Georges adds a northern Côte de Nuits note to what is otherwise a Côte de Beaune-centered range. Winemaking follows the traditional domaine model — parcel-by-parcel vinification, restrained use of new oak.
