Profile

History

Domaine Marc Morey & Fils is a compact Chassagne-Montrachet estate whose parcels reach across five communes. The "& Fils" suffix signals a working generational partnership — the sons active alongside the founder — which is a common structure in Burgundy's family domaines and typically implies both continuity and an eventual succession. Chassagne's double identity as a white- and red-wine village is embedded in the parcel mix, though the estate's Grand Cru anchor in Bâtard-Montrachet signals a clear orientation toward Chardonnay.

Winemaking Approach

Eight parcels across five communes give the domaine an unusually wide geographic spread for its size — from Meursault's Les Caillerets in the north to Puligny's Les Pucelles, then back south through Chassagne and east into Saint-Aubin. Vinification is traditional domaine-bottling style, with each parcel treated as a separate cuvée to preserve the character that distinguishes, say, the mineral tension of En Virondot from the breadth of Morgeot.
