History

Caroline Morey is a Côte de Beaune producer operating across four communes — Chassagne-Montrachet, Meursault, Beaune, and Santenay. The Morey family has long been central to Chassagne-Montrachet viticulture; Caroline established her own label to vinify parcels she owns independently. Her holdings span from a sliver of Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru down through a range of village and Premier Cru sites. The estate is based in Beaune.

Winemaking Approach

Caroline Morey works 7 parcels across 4 communes, with Chassagne-Montrachet at the core. The vineyards are overwhelmingly white — Chassagne's limestone soils and Meursault's rich marls both favor Chardonnay — though the Santenay La Comme parcel produces red. Notably, the Beaune Grèves Blanc (0.24 ha) is a rare white from a Premier Cru climat more often vinified as red. The domaine-bottling approach treats each parcel individually, preserving the contrasts between Chassagne's minerality and Meursault's broader texture.
