History

Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey is a Chassagne-Montrachet négociant-domaine that has become a reference point for the southern Côte de Beaune white wine revival. Pierre-Yves Colin — son of Marc Colin, grandson of the Chassagne institution — struck out on his own in 2005, building a portfolio that spans from Grand Cru Bâtard-Montrachet down through Chassagne, Saint-Aubin, Meursault, Puligny, Nuits-Saint-Georges, and Givry. The breadth is intentional: Colin-Morey buys fruit or juice across a wide arc of Burgundy, applying a consistent hand to each parcel while letting the terroir differences surface.

Winemaking Approach

Thirteen parcels across seven communes make for a portfolio with genuine range — one Grand Cru, twelve Premiers Crus. The style leans precise and mineral rather than opulent: whole-cluster pressing where appropriate, careful use of new oak, and an emphasis on freshness. Saint-Aubin holdings form the backbone of production, with La Châtelaine and Les Champlots among the estate's most discussed whites. Chassagne En Remilly and Les Chenevottes represent classic village character, while the Nuits-Saint-Georges Les Perrières adds an unusual red note to an otherwise white-dominated range.
