コート・ド・ボーヌの銘醸地ピュリニー・モンラッシェにおいて、ブラニー方面の斜面上部に位置するプルミエ・クリュです。標高が高く土壌が非常に薄いという特徴を持ち、グラン・クリュ周辺の畑に比べると、凝縮度や厚み、複雑性の面では控えめな性質を有しています。かつては赤ワインが造られており、100年前には裸の斜面が広がる場所でしたが、1950年代に鉄道員たちの手によって開拓が進められました。現在はジャン・マルク・ボワイヨが1.6ヘクタールを所有するほか、エティエンヌ・ソゼやラルーなどが名を連ねます。同じ上部のシャン・ガンらと共に、この地特有の個性を形成している一角です。
La Garenne is a premier cru in Puligny-Montrachet, the Côte de Beaune village that contains Le Montrachet and three further grands crus alongside a dozen premier crus. La Garenne sits at the upper, more elevated margin of the appellation — away from the grand cru belt — where thinner soils and slightly cooler air shape a leaner, more mineral style. At 5.45 ha, it is one of the larger premier cru parcels in the commune and attracts both domaine and négociant ownership.
Chardonnay, white only. Total registered holdings approximately 5.45 ha across 18 producers. The elevated position relative to the grands crus means La Garenne typically expresses a tighter, more restrained profile in youth — vivid acidity, chalk-edged minerality, and fruit that opens with bottle age.
