Profile

Domaine Bouard-Bonnefoy

History

Domaine Bouard-Bonnefoy is a multi-village estate with holdings spread across Chassagne-Montrachet, Givry, and Chablis — three appellations that span the length of Burgundy from north to south. That geographic range is unusual for a small domaine and reflects either deliberate diversification or inherited parcels from different family branches. Public records on the founding history are sparse.

Winemaking Approach

Eight Premier Cru parcels across three communes — Chassagne-Montrachet (five), Givry (one), and Chablis (one) — give the domaine a notably varied portfolio for its size. The smallest parcels run to just 0.06 ha (Les Chenevottes) and 0.07 ha (Les Vergers), meaning production from those sites amounts to a few hundred bottles at most. Wines are bottled under the traditional domaine model.
