シャサーニュ・モンラッシェのプルミエ・クリュであるアン・ヴィロンドは、ラ・グランド・モンターニュの一部を構成する。標高の高い斜面に位置し、周囲を荒れ地に囲まれているのが特徴。乾燥した年にはブドウ樹が水分不足に陥ることもあるが、湿潤な条件下では優れた品質を発揮する。畑は壁によって上下に二分されており、急峻な上部よりも下部の方が石の多い土壌となっている。

面積は2.28ヘクタールで、ドメーヌ・マルク・モレがそのうち2.02ヘクタールを所有する。同ドメーヌは残りの僅かな区画も管理しており、実質的な単独所有に近い状態で栽培から瓶詰めまでを担う。畑の核心部には樹齢70年を超える古木が残り、1990年代に上部などが追加で開墾された。

History

En Virondot is a premier cru *climat* in Chassagne-Montrachet on the Côte de Beaune. Chassagne sits alongside Puligny as the great white-wine axis of the Côte, though it also maintains a red-wine tradition of its own. En Virondot, at approximately 2.02 ha of registered holdings, is a small parcel within that broader mosaic.
