History

Domaine Chanson is the estate arm of the historic Beaune négociant Chanson Père & Fils. Beaune has served as the commercial and viticultural heart of the Côte de Beaune for centuries, and the Chanson name — established in 1750 — carries particular weight among the town's old négociant families. The domaine holds Premier Cru parcels concentrated in and around the Beaune appellation, with Chassagne-Montrachet and Pernand-Vergelesses extending the range southward and northward respectively.

Winemaking Approach

Sixteen Premier Cru parcels across 5 communes (Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet, Pernand-Vergelesses, Savigny-lès-Beaune, and additional Beaune lieux-dits) make Domaine Chanson one of the more comprehensively held Beaune-centric estates. Les Chenevottes in Chassagne-Montrachet (1.99 ha) is the only parcel with a listed hectarage outside Beaune's core — the remaining sites in Pernand, Savigny, and across Beaune's Premier Cru belt fill in a picture of consistent, village-anchored production.
