History
Domaine du Cellier aux Moines takes its name from the monastic cellars that once defined this part of Burgundy. The estate is based in Chassagne-Montrachet but draws its core identity from Givry — the Clos du Cellier aux Moines, a monopole Premier Cru of nearly 5 hectares, anchors the portfolio and traces its origins to the Cistercian monks who cultivated the site centuries ago.
Winemaking Approach
Seven Premier Cru parcels across 5 communes — Givry, Puligny-Montrachet, Chassagne-Montrachet, Santenay, and Montagny — give the domaine an unusually broad Chalonnaise-and-southern-Côte-de-Beaune spread. The Clos du Cellier aux Moines (4.70 ha) is by far the largest holding and serves as the estate's benchmark wine; the other parcels are small satellites that flesh out a diverse but coherent lineup.
