History

Domaine Marchand-Frères is a Chambolle-Musigny estate with a portfolio that extends well beyond its home village into the heart of Gevrey-Chambertin and Morey-Saint-Denis. The "Frères" structure — brothers working a shared domaine — has deep roots in Burgundy, and the Marchand family's decision to build across the Côte de Nuits rather than concentrate in a single commune gives the estate an unusually varied range of Grand Cru and Premier Cru expressions.

Winemaking Approach

Ten parcels across four communes include three Grand Crus — Charmes-Chambertin and Griotte-Chambertin in Gevrey, and Clos de la Roche in Morey — alongside seven Premier Cru plots that lean heavily toward Morey-Saint-Denis. The Morey cluster (Les Gruenchers, Les Génavrières, Les Millandes, Les Façonnières, and Clos des Ormes) lets the domaine show that village's distinctive blend of Gevrey's structure and Chambolle's elegance in a single parcel run. Vinification is traditional, with an emphasis on preserving the Côte de Nuits' characteristic tannin architecture.
