Profile

History

Domaine Arlaud is a Chambolle-Musigny estate with a well-assembled portfolio across the central Côte de Nuits. Five grand cru parcels — Clos de la Roche, Charmes-Chambertin, Bonnes-Mares, Clos Saint-Denis, and Mazoyères-Chambertin — give the domaine unusual breadth for its size. The seven premier cru parcels are concentrated heavily in Morey-Saint-Denis, with Chambolle adding aromatic contrast.

Notably, Domaine Arlaud and Domaine Arlaud Père & Fils appear as related but separately listed entities — reflecting the common Burgundian practice of parallel domain structures within the same family.

Winemaking Approach

Twelve parcels across five communes. The Morey-Saint-Denis concentration — Clos de la Roche (0.86 ha) as the flagship grand cru, supported by Aux Cheseaux, Clos des Ormes, Les Millandes, and Les Ruchots among the premiers crus — shapes the cellar's overall register toward firm, mineral-edged Pinot Noir. Chambolle parcels (Les Baudes) provide the perfumed counterpoint. Mazoyères-Chambertin (0.16 ha) rounds out the grand cru lineup with a rare appellation that may be bottled as Charmes-Chambertin at the producer's option.
