Profile

History

Bernard Moreau is a small domaine in Chassagne-Montrachet, a village that straddles the white-wine world of the southern Côte de Beaune while preserving a quiet red-wine tradition alongside it. Detailed founding records are not publicly available, though the estate reflects the parcel-driven approach long associated with this part of Burgundy.

Winemaking Approach

Five parcels define the estate, all Premier Cru — spread across Chassagne-Montrachet and a single plot in Saint-Aubin. That two-commune spread gives Bernard Moreau a modest but genuine range of white-wine expression, from the limestone-rich hillsides of Chassagne to the lighter soils just north in Saint-Aubin.
