Profile

11History
Domaine de la Pousse d'Or is based in Aloxe-Corton, though its heartland lies in Volnay — where two of its most important holdings, Caillerets and the monopole Clos de la Bousse d'Or, define the estate's character. The name itself comes from the "Bousse d'Or" climat: a 2.13 ha walled clos that has been farmed by the domaine for decades. Gérard Potel built much of the estate's modern reputation through the latter half of the twentieth century; the property later passed to Patrick Landanger, who extended the holdings into the Côte de Nuits.
Winemaking Approach
The domaine works 14 parcels across 8 communes — 3 Grand Cru, 11 Premier Cru. Volnay is the spiritual center: the Caillerets (2.24 ha) and the monopole Clos de la Bousse d'Or (2.13 ha) together represent a substantial slice of Volnay Premier Cru. In the cellar, the style tends toward classical structure — oak-aged but not heavily extracted, aiming for wines that reward patience. The Chambolle-Musigny holdings, including Les Amoureuses, add a more perfumed dimension to the range.
