Chablis Premier Cru encompasses seventeen named *montées* and *côtes* — slopes carved by the Serein river and its tributaries — that sit above the village appellation but below the seven grand crus. The northernmost wine district of Burgundy, Chablis sits in the Yonne département, geographically closer to Champagne than to Beaune. Its Kimmeridgean limestone soils, laid down by a Jurassic sea, give white wines their distinctive mineral edge.
Style & Terroir
