History

Domaine Y Clerget is a Beaune-based estate whose real heartland lies just to the south — in the red-wine communes of Volnay and Pommard, where the limestone and clay soils yield Pinot Noir of depth and age-worthiness. The Clerget name has deep roots in Burgundy; this branch operates from Beaune with holdings anchored in those two communes. Founding details are not widely documented.

Winemaking Approach

Ten parcels across five communes — one Grand Cru, nine Premier Cru — define the domaine's range. Four of the Premier Crus sit in Volnay alone, with additional holdings in Pommard and a small Beaune lieu-dit. A single strip of Clos de Vougeot (0.32 ha) adds a Côte de Nuits outlier to an otherwise southern-focused portfolio.
