History
Château de Chamirey is headquartered in Beaune but operates primarily as a Mercurey estate — five of its seven Premier Cru parcels lie within that commune. The remaining holdings extend into St-Martin-sous-Montaigu and Beaune itself. That three-commune spread gives the domaine a broader terroir base than most Chalonnaise producers, anchored by some of Mercurey's most substantial named sites.
Winemaking Approach
Seven Premier Cru parcels totaling considerable acreage. The Mercurey parcels dominate: Clos l'Évêque (2.06 ha), La Mission (1.92 ha), and En Sazenay (1.52 ha) form the backbone of the red wine range. The St-Martin-sous-Montaigu parcel — Les Ruelles (2.54 ha) — is a significant holding within that appellation. Clos du Roi in Beaune (3.09 ha) adds a Côte de Beaune dimension.
