La Mission is a premier cru vineyard in Mercurey, the Côte Chalonnaise's largest commune. Mercurey builds its reputation almost entirely on red wine, and its *climat* map — covering some thirty premier cru sites — gives the appellation a structural complexity unusual for the Chalonnaise.
Pinot Noir, red only. Registered holdings total approximately 1.92 ha. Premier cru rules apply: 9,000 vines per hectare minimum, yields kept to roughly 45–48 hl/ha.
