History
Château de Chamirey is a substantial Mercurey estate in the Côte Chalonnaise, long associated with the Devillard family — who also own Domaine de la Ferté in Givry and Domaine des Perdrix in Nuits-Saint-Georges. Mercurey is the Chalonnaise's largest appellation, and Chamirey has assembled a portfolio of Premier Cru parcels that covers the commune's most expressive sites.
Winemaking Approach
Six Premier Cru parcels concentrated almost entirely within Mercurey — with one exception in St-Martin-sous-Montaigu — reflect a deliberate focus on place rather than breadth. The house style favors structure and age-worthiness over early approachability, in keeping with Mercurey's reputation for mid-weight, cellar-friendly reds.
