Les Frionnes is a premier cru *climat* in Saint-Aubin, tucked into the hills behind Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet. The village produces both red and white premiers crus, and its whites draw comparison to their more famous neighbors at a fraction of the price — a gap that has attracted increasing attention over the past two decades.
Les Frionnes produces white wine from Chardonnay. At approximately 5.67 ha across 11 producers it is among the more substantial Saint-Aubin premier cru sites. Domaine Hubert Lamy holds 2.80 ha — nearly half the total — giving the climat a clearer house style than most multi-owner Burgundy sites. The wines tend toward fresh orchard fruit, lively acidity, and a stone-mineral texture that owes much to the same Bathonian limestone that underpins Puligny's grands crus one valley over.
