Le Puits is a premier cru in Saint-Aubin, the Côte de Beaune village nestled in the hills between Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet. Saint-Aubin's premier crus occupy the upper slopes and side valleys behind those more famous names — the word *puits* (well) points to the springs and water sources that once defined parcel boundaries across this hillside terrain.
Chardonnay, white only. Registered holdings total approximately 0.33 ha across three producers. Standard Burgundy premier cru rules apply: minimum 9,000 vines per hectare, yields around 45–48 hl/ha, and potential alcohol starting near 11.0–11.5%.
