Bas de Vermarain à l'Est is a premier cru in Saint-Aubin, a commune tucked into the hills behind Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet. Saint-Aubin produces white premier crus at prices well below its famous neighbors — Bas de Vermarain à l'Est is one of the less-publicized *climats* in this often underappreciated village.
