ヴォーヌ・ロマネの南端に位置するレ・ショームは、村の主要なグラン・クリュの帯から続く斜面の下方に広がる一級畑です。ラ・ターシュやラ・グランド・リュのすぐ東側に隣接するこの畑は、総面積7.12ヘクタールの規模を誇ります。最大所有者であるドメーヌ・メオ・カミュゼの2ヘクタールを筆頭に、アルヌー・ラショーやフランソワ・ラマルシュなど名立たる生産者が区画を保持しています。標高はグラン・クリュよりも低く、村名畑が始まる手前の緩やかな傾斜地に位置しており、ヴォーヌ・ロマネ特有の洗練された風味と凝縮感の一端を担う重要な存在です。同アペラシオンの中でも比較的親しみやすく、安定した品質を保つ一級畑として知られています。
Les Chaumes is a premier cru *climat* in Vosne-Romanée, Côte de Nuits. At 5.65 ha it is one of the larger premier crus in a village where the grands crus command the best mid-slope ground and the premier crus spread across the flanks. Les Chaumes lies toward the southern end of the appellation, bordering Nuits-St-Georges — a location that gives it slightly firmer structure than the silkier premier crus nearer the village center.
Pinot Noir, red only. Registered holdings total approximately 5.65 ha across 14 producers. Domaine Méo-Camuzet holds the largest single share at 2.00 ha — more than a third of the *climat* — and its bottling is among the reference wines for understanding what Les Chaumes delivers: dark fruit, spice, and a tannin frame that needs several years to integrate fully.
