ラ・グラン・リュ
ヴォーヌ・ロマネの村落からラ・ロマネのすぐ上まで続く、幅50メートルに満たない細長い帯状の畑がラ・グランド・リュです。ドメーヌ・ラマルシュが1.65ヘクタールを単独所有するモノポールで、1992年に正式に特級格付けとなりました。歴史的には1933年にエドゥアール・ラマルシュが購入し、1959年にはドメーヌ・ド・ラ・ロマネ・コンティとの間で区画交換が行われた経緯を持ちます。標高の高い上部は土壌が浅く痩せているのが特徴です。ワインは赤い果実を基調とし、オレンジの花のようなニュアンスを伴う、この畑ならではの独自のスタイルを備えています。
La Grande Rue takes its name from the path running alongside the vineyard, climbing from the village up to the plateau above. Records place Richard de Chissey holding 22 *ouvrées* on the site as early as 1450. The Liger-Belair family acquired the vineyard in 1876, and the Lamarche family — which still owns it — purchased it at auction in 1933.
When the surrounding Vosne-Romanée grands crus were classified in the 1930s, Henri Lamarche chose to keep La Grande Rue at Premier Cru level, calculating that promotion would only raise his taxes. His successor François Lamarche later reversed that judgment and petitioned for reclassification. The INAO approved the application on 8–9 November 1989, and the promotion to Grand Cru was formalised by a decree dated 8 July 1992, applied retroactively from the 1991 vintage.
La Grande Rue is a narrow strip of 1.6525 ha (of which 1.4207 ha corresponds to the historical Grande Rue, with small additional parcels from Les Gaudichots). Its position is among the most privileged on the entire Côte de Nuits: La Tâche and Les Gaudichots lie to the south, and across a narrow road to the north sit Romanée-Conti, La Romanée, and Romanée-Saint-Vivant.
The wine tends toward finesse rather than power — red-fruit aromatics and gentle tannins in youth, with raspberry and violet giving way to wild flowers and game notes as it ages. Annual production runs to approximately 8,000 bottles; 2008 yielded 52 hl (just under 7,000 bottles).
Domaine Lamarche holds La Grande Rue as a monopole. The family has owned the vineyard since 1933 and drove the campaign that secured its 1991 reclassification. Lamarche also holds parcels in the Vosne-Romanée premiers crus Les Suchots and Les Malconsorts, but La Grande Rue is the domaine's flagship cuvée — and its only grand cru monopole.
