La Grande Pièce is a premier cru *climat* in Montagny-lès-Buxy, at the southern end of the Côte Chalonnaise. Montagny is unusual in the Chalonnaise: an exclusively white-wine commune, planted entirely to Chardonnay, with no Pinot Noir permitted under its appellation rules.
Chardonnay, white only. Four producers hold parcels here, farming within the standard Burgundy premier cru framework.
