History
Château de Davenay is based in Montagny-lès-Buxy, the southernmost commune of the Côte Chalonnaise. Montagny is unusual in Burgundy: it produces only white wine, planted entirely to Chardonnay, and the Premier Cru designation here applies to any parcel that reaches the required minimum alcohol — not a specific classified site.
Winemaking Approach
