History

Clos Jus is a premier cru in Dracy-le-Fort, one of the communes that falls within the Givry appellation of the Côte Chalonnaise. Givry sits immediately south of the Côte d'Or and carries a historic reputation — the court of Henri IV apparently favoured the wines — that has helped elevate its premier crus above the general run of Chalonnaise production. Clos Jus, at approximately 6.00 ha, is one of the more substantial named parcels in the appellation and draws six producers.

Style & Terroir

Pinot Noir, red only. Côte Chalonnaise reds tend toward a slightly leaner, more direct fruit profile than Côte d'Or premiers crus — red cherry and spice, good natural acidity, tannins that resolve relatively quickly. Clos Jus follows that template, offering honest Givry character without the prestige premium of the Côte d'Or.
