ル・プティ・プレタン

Le Petit Prétan is a premier cru in Givry, in the Côte Chalonnaise. The *prétan* toponym — likely derived from *pré*, an old word for meadow — suggests land that was converted from pasture to vineyard, a transition common across the Chalonnaise as viticulture expanded in the medieval period. At 0.60 ha, it is a small but clearly delineated parcel within Givry's premier cru mosaic.
Pinot Noir, red only. Registered holdings total approximately 0.60 ha. Standard Burgundy premier cru rules apply: minimum 9,000 vines per hectare, yields around 45–48 hl/ha, and potential alcohol starting near 11.0–11.5%.
