Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé is the benchmark Chambolle-Musigny estate — and, through its 7.12-hectare holding in Musigny, controls more of that Grand Cru than any other single owner. The domaine traces its roots to the fifteenth century and the de Vogüé family has held it since 1766. The modern era's defining moment came in the 1990s when François Millet joined as winemaker, bringing a precision and consistency that aligned the estate's potential with its extraordinary terroir.
Chambolle-Musigny produces what many describe as the most silky and fragrant red wines of the Côte de Nuits — and Musigny, at the top of the village's hierarchy, is the reason that reputation holds.
Winemaking Approach
The estate works four parcels across Chambolle-Musigny and the Morey-Saint-Denis border, including two Grand Crus and two Premiers Crus. The Musigny Grand Cru also yields a tiny quantity of white wine — Musigny Blanc — one of the rarest white Burgundies in existence. Winemaking is classically oriented: whole-cluster fermentation, measured new oak, long aging. Total holdings span approximately 12 hectares.
