History

Domaine Bessin-Tremblay is a small Chablis estate with holdings in both the Grand Cru and Premier Cru tiers. Chablis sits at the northernmost edge of Burgundy, where Kimmeridgian limestone soils and a cool continental climate give Chardonnay a distinctively mineral, taut character unlike anywhere else in the region.

Winemaking Approach

Three parcels across two communes. Valmur (2.08 ha) is the anchor — one of Chablis's seven Grand Cru vineyards, facing south and southwest on the steep right bank of the Serein. The two Premier Cru parcels, Montmains (1.28 ha) and Fourchaume (1.15 ha), cover different exposures and add breadth at the level below.
