History

Domaine Bertagna is based in Vougeot — not Aloxe-Corton, as the label alone might suggest — and operates one of the more geographically ambitious portfolios in the Côte de Nuits. Holdings run from Chambertin in the north to Corton-Charlemagne in the south, across nine communes in all. That span reflects deliberate acquisition rather than any single ancestral holding, and the estate's public history is less documented than its vineyard list.

Winemaking Approach

Fourteen parcels in total, including five Grand Cru and nine Premier Cru. The house style threads a single identity across villages as different as Gevrey-Chambertin and Aloxe-Corton — a challenge that most single-village domaines never face. Vougeot anchors the portfolio, with Clos de la Perrière (2.17 ha) providing the estate's largest Premier Cru holding and Clos de Vougeot (1.42 ha) its most prominent Grand Cru name.
