コート・シャロネーズ地区メルキュレ村に位置するプルミエ・クリュ、レ・ソモンは、村の北西部に広がる一級畑である。栽培面積は合計で7.12ヘクタールを擁し、主な所有者には、1.1ヘクタールを保持するドメーヌ・デュ・メ・フルロをはじめ、ドメーヌ・ジェノ・ブーランジェ、ドメーヌ・ニノ、ドメーヌ・トゥーロ・ジュイヨらが名を連ねる。標高約260メートルから310メートルの斜面に位置し、土壌は主にジュラ紀後期のオックスフォーディアン階に由来する石灰岩と粘土質で構成されている。この地からは赤ワインと白ワインの両方が生産されており、地形の傾斜と地質的特徴が、メルキュレのプルミエ・クリュとしての個性を形成する重要な要素となっている。
Les Saumonts is a premier cru in Mercurey, the largest commune of the Côte Chalonnaise. Mercurey's *climat* mosaic runs deep — dozens of named parcels spread across limestone-rich hillsides, producing mostly red wines with a smaller share of whites.
