History

Les Crêts is a premier cru climat in Mercurey, the Côte Chalonnaise's largest and most productive commune. Mercurey built its reputation largely on Pinot Noir, and Les Crêts forms part of the village's classified premier cru network — a tier that gives Mercurey an unusual depth for a Chalonnaise appellation.

Style & Terroir

Les Crêts covers approximately 1.30 ha and produces Pinot Noir. Premier cru regulations apply across all Burgundy (9,000 vines/ha minimum, yield ceiling around 45–48 hl/ha). Domaine de Suremain holds the full measured area, making this effectively a single-domaine climat in practice.
