History

Les Charmes is the largest premier cru in Meursault — 16.28 ha spread across a sweeping mid-slope exposure that faces east to southeast. Meursault has no grands crus, yet it produces some of the most sought-after white Burgundy, and Les Charmes sits at the center of that reputation. The *climat* divides informally into Charmes-Dessus (upper, stonier) and Charmes-Dessous (lower, richer soil), though both carry the same appellation.

Style & Terroir

Chardonnay, white only.28 ha under vine, Les Charmes generates a large volume of premier cru Meursault — which means quality varies considerably by producer. At its best, the wine delivers Meursault's hallmark combination of weight and freshness: hazelnuts, ripe stone fruit, and a creamy mid-palate underpinned by lively acidity.
