Chambolle-Musigny Premier Cru designates the named premier cru *climats* of a village whose wines are associated with finesse above all else in the Côte de Nuits. Chambolle sits between Morey-Saint-Denis to the north and Vougeot to the south, its soils lighter and its drainage more active than the richer ground of Gevrey — factors that translate directly into the lifted, perfumed character of its reds.
Style & Terroir
Pinot Noir, red only. Minimum 9,000 vines per hectare, yield ceiling around 45–48 hl/ha, minimum potential alcohol roughly 11.0–11.5%.
