Chateau de Santenay is based in Santenay, the southernmost traditional commune of the Côte de Beaune. The village produces both red and white premier crus — the reds from Pinot Noir on clay-limestone soils, the whites from Chardonnay on the lighter upper slopes. The estate's early founding history is not well documented.
Winemaking Approach
A small estate spanning two communes — Santenay and Vougeot — with three parcels in total, including one Grand Cru. That reach from Vougeot down to Santenay gives the portfolio an unusual north-south breadth for its size.
