Domaine Christian Moreau is a Chablis estate with roots in one of the appellation's most storied family names. The Moreau family has been present in Chablis for generations — though this particular domaine represents a distinct branch, farming its own parcels and bottling under its own label. Chablis itself sits at the northern extremity of Burgundy, where Kimmeridgean limestone soils coax a sharp, saline minerality from Chardonnay that no other terroir quite replicates.
Winemaking Approach
The estate works five parcels across two communes, including four Grand Cru and one Premier Cru site — a portfolio weighted firmly toward Chablis's highest classification. That Grand Cru concentration shapes the cellar's priorities: restraint in intervention, a focus on preserving the cool limestone character of each climat, and patient aging to let the wines resolve naturally.
