シャブリ左岸に位置するセシェは、広大なプルミエ・クリュであるヴァイヨンを構成する下位区分のひとつである。行政上の分類ではシャブリのコミューンに属しており、ヴァイヨンという見出し名でまとめられる複数のクリュの中でも、独立した名称でボトリングされる機会が多い。この左岸エリアのワインは、右岸に見られる熟した黄色い果実のニュアンスとは対照的に、白い花や果実を思わせる清廉な特性を備える傾向にある。
主要な所有者には、1.5ヘクタールを擁するドルーアン・ヴォードンをはじめ、ルイ・ミシェル、サミュエル・ビロー、ジャン＆セバスチャン・ドーヴィサ、ヴァンサン・ドーヴィサ、ジャン・コレらが名を連ねる。各生産者のセラーにおいて、ヴァイヨンの他の区画と区別して個別に瓶詰めされることも少なくない。
Sécher is a premier cru *climat* in Chablis, the northernmost wine village of Burgundy. The appellation sits on Kimmeridgean limestone — a band of ancient seafloor that runs beneath the vineyards and gives Chablis its characteristic mineral edge.
