Les Gouttes d'Or — "drops of gold" — is a premier cru in Meursault, the Côte de Beaune's largest white-wine commune. The name captures something essential about the style: Chardonnay from this site tends toward a deeper, riper register than Meursault's more minerally premier crus to the north. The parcel sits on the lower slope, where heavier clay retains warmth and builds concentration.
Chardonnay, white only. Farmed under Burgundy's premier cru framework: 9,000 vines per hectare minimum, yield ceiling around 45–48 hl/ha, and minimum potential alcohol in the 11.0–11.5% range. Identified holdings total approximately 2.03 ha across eleven producers — a relatively well-divided ownership for a Meursault premier cru.
