ジュヴレ・シャンベルタンの村の境界と、特級畑のマジ・シャンベルタンやシャペル・シャンベルタンの間に位置する一級畑。総面積は6.75ヘクタールで、グラン・クリュのすぐ下方に広がるプルミエ・クリュのグループの一角を形成している。この一帯にはコルボーやフォントニーといったクリュが並び、村の居住区に隣接する立地が特徴である。主要な所有者には、1.11ヘクタールを擁するドメーヌ・デュ・クヴァンをはじめ、ドメーヌ・トルトショ、ドメーヌ・エレスタン・マッツィーニが名を連ねる。斜面の下部に位置しながらも、偉大な特級畑の恩恵を受ける場所であり、村の歴史的な区画整理において重要な位置を占めてきた。
Champonnet is a premier cru *climat* in Gevrey-Chambertin on the Côte de Nuits. The commune is the largest in the Côte de Nuits and holds nine grand cru vineyards — its premier crus, Champonnet included, fill the slopes adjacent to those storied parcels.
