Les Petits Epenots is a premier cru in Pommard, the leading red-wine commune of the Côte de Beaune. It lies adjacent to Les Grands Epenots — the larger and more widely discussed sibling *climat* — sharing the same clay-limestone soils that give Pommard its characteristically dense, structured profile. Pommard carries no Grand Cru, but the Epenots cluster has anchored the commune's reputation for well over a century.
Pinot Noir, red only. Registered holdings total approximately 1.Pommard reds from this part of the hillside tend toward structure and grip — firmer tannins than the more silky Volnay next door, with the density to reward medium-term cellaring.
