ポマール村の南側、ヴォルネイとの境界近くに位置するレ・シャポニエールは、斜面の中腹に広がる一級畑である。このアペラシオン特有の、水分を保持する深い粘土質土壌と鉄分の影響により、ワインは色が濃く、重量感のある骨太なスタイルに仕上がる。かつては野趣あるタンニンが特徴とされていたが、近年の乾燥した夏の影響で土壌の過剰な水分が相殺され、果実の重みを保ちつつも、より洗練された質感へと変化を遂げている。
総面積は7.12ヘクタールで、主な所有者には0.63ヘクタールを擁するドメーヌ・パラン、0.6ヘクタールのドメーヌ・ローネ・オリオ、そしてビヤール・ゴネが名を連ねる。長期熟成に耐えうるポテンシャルを持ちながら、若いうちからもその魅力を享受しやすくなっている。
Les Chaponnières is a premier cru *climat* in Pommard, Côte de Beaune. Pommard sits at the southern end of the Côte de Nuits border, producing the most structured red wines of the Côte de Beaune — deep-colored Pinot Noirs with firm tannin and considerable aging potential.
Pinot Noir, red only. Registered holdings total approximately 1.23 ha across 3 producers. The two principal parcels — just over 0.6 ha each — account for virtually the entire climat.
