ル・クロ・ゴーテ
コート・ド・ボーヌ地区のモンテリーに位置するル・クロ・ゴーテは、1.80ヘクタールの面積を持つプルミエ・クリュです。ヴォルネーからモンテリーへと続く道路のすぐ上、プラトー（台地）状の場所に位置しており、周囲を高い石壁に囲まれているのが特徴です。土壌は石灰質を含み、石を多く含んだ軽やかな質感で、赤みを帯びています。この地のワインにはヴォルネーを思わせる優雅さが備わりますが、一方でモンテリー特有のしっかりとしたタンニンも感じられます。主な所有者にはドメーヌ・フロラン・ガラデが名を連ね、赤ワインを手掛けています。また、フィリップ・パカレが買いブドウから白ワインを造っており、両方の色のワインが生産されている畑です。
Le Clos Gauthey is a premier cru *climat* in Monthélie, a compact Côte de Beaune village tucked between Volnay and Meursault. Monthélie produces almost exclusively red wine — unusual for this stretch of the Côte — from slopes that rise steeply west of the valley road. The family name Gauthey embedded in the parcel suggests long-standing proprietorial association, a naming habit Burgundy's *lieu-dits* preserve in stone.
