オー・シェニョ
ニュイ・サン・ジョルジュの北側に位置するオー・シェニョは、総面積5.86ヘクタールのプルミエ・クリュである。標高260メートルから280メートルの斜面に広がり、勾配は8パーセントから20パーセントに及ぶ。土壌は村の南側と比較して沖積質の性質が強く、かつてムザン川が運んだ微細な砂利を豊富に含んでいるのが特徴である。名称は「小さなオーク」を意味する言葉に由来するとされるが、鉄分を含む鉱物を指す方言に由来するという説もある。主要な所有者には、1.53ヘクタールを擁するドメーヌ・ロベール・シュヴィヨンのほか、フェヴレ、アンリ・グージュ、アラン・ミシュロらが名を連ね、この地の個性を反映したワインを造り出している。
Aux Chaignots is a premier cru vineyard in Nuits-Saint-Georges, at the northern end of the commune. The name derives from *chaignot*, an old Burgundian word for a type of oak — a reminder that much of this hillside was once woodland. Nuits-Saint-Georges has no grands crus, and Chaignots, with its respectable 3.10 ha and four serious domaines, is part of the commune's solid premier cru core.
