History
Domaine René & Vincent Dauvissat is the benchmark estate of Chablis — a small family domaine that has worked the village's Kimmeridgian limestone slopes for generations. René Dauvissat built the reputation through meticulous parcel selection and unhurried cellar work; his son Vincent has continued in the same vein since taking over. The holdings are modest in size but exceptional in address, anchored by Les Clos and Les Preuses among the Grand Crus.
Winemaking Approach
Dauvissat farms (4) parcels — (2) Grand Cru and (2) Premier Cru — without heavy intervention. Yields are kept low, and the wines spend extended time in old wood before bottling. The house style prizes tension over richness: steely acidity, saline minerality, and a reductive thread that opens slowly in the glass. No new oak, no shortcuts. The Chablis typicity here is as pure as it gets on the Côte.
