ジュヴレ・シャンベルタンのプルミエ・クリュ、エストゥルネル・サン＝ジャックは、ラヴォー・サン＝ジャックの上方に位置する2.04ヘクタールの畑である。斜面がコンブ・ド・ラヴォーに向かって急激に上がる高所にあり、薄い表土の下には小石混じりの白いマールが広がる。ルイ・ジャドやアンリ・マニアン、アンベール・フレール、フーリエらが所有し、かつては白ブドウも多く植えられていた。土壌は乾燥すると硬くなる性質を持つが、南向きで風が通るため、果実の腐敗は抑えられる。ワインは深みよりも繊細さや芳香に秀でた性格を持つ。収量を適切に管理し、土壌を丁寧に耕作することで、この地特有の魅力的な香りと優美さが引き出される。
Estournelles St-Jacques is a premier cru *climat* in Gevrey-Chambertin, the largest commune of the Côte de Nuits. Gevrey is home to nine grand cru vineyards and its premier cru belt holds parcels of genuine depth — Estournelles St-Jacques among them, sitting on approximately 0.33 ha of registered holdings.
Pinot Noir, red only. Premier cru regulations apply: 9,000 vines per hectare minimum, roughly 11.0–11.5% potential alcohol, yield ceiling around 45–48 hl/ha. Registered holdings total approximately 0.33 ha.
