コート・ド・フォントネは、シャブリの右岸に位置するフォントネ・プレ・シャブリ村のプルミエ・クリュである。広大な面積を誇るフルショームの傘下にある下位区分の一つだが、独立した名称として扱われることもある。スラン川の東側に広がるこの一帯は、右岸特有のスタイルを有しており、左岸のクリュに比べてより豊熟でエキゾチックな果実味を備える傾向がある。全体で7.12ヘクタールの面積を有し、主要な所有者には1.23ヘクタールを保持するドメーヌ・ヴリニョーが挙げられる。フルショームという大きな枠組みの中にありながら、固有のテロワールを反映したワインを生み出す。白よりも黄色い果実を思わせる、右岸らしい充実した骨格がこの畑の特徴といえる。
Côte de Fontenay is a Chablis premier cru in Fontenay-près-Chablis, a small village north of the town of Chablis. The commune contributes a handful of named premier cru parcels to the appellation, each occupying its own slice of the local Kimmeridgian hillside.
Chardonnay, white only. Registered holdings total approximately 1.23 ha. Premier cru regulations apply: 9,000 vines per hectare minimum, potential alcohol around 11.0–11.5%, yields capped in the 45–48 hl/ha range.
